The BV series butterfly valves provide a high quality, cost effective solution for HVAC, and chemical applications. These valves may be used with water, sewage, vapour, drink, acids or alkalis where the working pressures may be up to 16 bar.
Features
Compact construction
Zero leakage with bi-directional bubble tight shutoff
Suitable for water and checmicals, -40 to 210 ¡ãC.
Nominal operating pressure: 16 bar maximum For electrical operation, suitable for use with Dura BA60-500 actuators.
Low operating torques make it easy to operate
Internal rubber liner keeps the valve body not contact with fluid, offering good insulation from noise and heat.
Spec.
Function: Isolating or modulating
Installation: Clamping between two flanges
To Suit flanges: PN6,PN10,PN16(others available)
Shut-off pressure: 6 bar, 10 bar, 16 bar
Note: The shut-off pressure must be indicated when ordering.
Materials:
Body: Cast iron GG50
Disc: Stainless steel 316
Stem: Stainless steel 410
Lining:
Type Temp. Media
NBR -10 to 82¡æ fuels, sea water
EPDM -20 to 110¡æ water, weak acids
FPM -20 to 210¡æ hot gases, hydrocarbons
PTFE 10 to 120¡æ concentrated acids, hot
water, steam
Note: The wrong selection of lining can cause valve failure. The suitability of lining type depends on working pressure, temperature and media type (including any cleaning media).
Leakage: Standard ¨C tight shut-off @ 16bar
Undercut ¨C tight shut-off @ 6bar
Flow Velocity: The maximum flow velocities to avoid cavitation, noise and vibration are as below: liquids - 5m/s, gases - 50m/s.
Torque: The operation torque of butterfly valves less 100mm is generally the result of 3 partial torques:
1. Seating torque: torque to overcome the rubberseat
firction
2. Bearing friction torque: torque to overcome the
friction between the shaft and bearing
3. Dynamic torque: torque developed by the pressure
differences across a partly opened valve as a result
of high flow velocity

Notes:
The torque values shown above are only suitable for ¡°wet¡±(water and other nonlubricatng media) on/off services. For "dry" service (nonlubricating, dry gas media), multiply values by 1.15. For "lubricating"(clean, non-abrasive media), multiply by 0.85.
When identifying actuators for single valve applications, multiply the above torques by 1.25.
Under certain conditions, hydrodynamic torque can meet or exceed seating torquies. Be sure to take the hydrodynamic torques into consideration to match suitable actuator devices when designing valve systems.
